Gigondas wines represent a very particular expression of Grenache grown at altitude, with Syrah and Mourvèdre. They combine carefully-controlled power, elegance, finesse and freshness. The limestone of the Dentelles de Montmirail brings a distinct minerality to this very specific cru from the southern Rhône Valley.
King of southern Rhône Valley grapes, Grenache Noir reveals itself here in all its splendour. With the morning sunlight limited by the Dentelles de Montmirail, this grape’s ripening period is considerably lengthened, which works in its favour (Grenache needs time to express itself fully).
“I am always very relaxed when I open bottles of Gigondas… it’s a wine that calls for company” – Alain Passard.
