Gigondas sur Table 2022 Gigondas sur Table is THE big summer event that gastronomes are loath to miss. It is a combined celebration of wine and fine fare where four chefs, a cheese maker, a Provence pastry chef and around fifty winegrowers all sing from the same hymn sheet to orchestrate an evening event on the village square. In their glasses and on their plates are local, home-grown, seasonal products brought together in a series of classical – or rock’n’roll – combinations that never fail to please. Food and wines are on the same page, offering a full-on, palate-pleasing experience that enthusiasts from near and far rhapsodise over. After a two-year hiatus, 2022 deserved a unique occasion and a guest of honour to celebrate the appellation’s fiftieth anniversary last year. Gigondas sur Table is therefore welcoming northern Rhone leading light Condrieu, famed for its fine white wines, which will be represented by a dozen winegrowers. Although one is red and the other white, both appellations have one thing in common – their freshness, and that’s something that won’t go amiss on a hot summer’s evening.
