Le Mas des Flauzieres
Private winery
The Mas des Flauzières is a farm which belonged to the castle of Entrechaux during the Middle Age. It’s an old building at the feet of Provence giant, the Mont Ventoux, and nearby Vaison-la-Romaine. It’s the BENOIT family’s property since the end of 19th century.
After agronomy and oenology studies, the son, Jérôme BENOIT, decided to create his own wine store and to sell his own wines since 2002.
Vineyard is grown with the half of rows under grass. On the other hand, there’s a considerable labour to improve lighting of foliage surface in the way to help grapes maturity.
The vineyard is facing south-west and located on hillsides and terraces of Dentelles de Montmirail, on chalky and clayed soils. Grape varieties : 70% grenache (age 15-70 years), 20 % syrah (age 15-30 years) and 10% mourvèdre (age 15-30 years).
The wines stems from a traditional vinification of hand-harvested grapes of grenache, syrah and mourvedre vinify separately with a 21 days maceration followed by an ageing in vat (Four Danuga) or one rack barrel during 12 to 18 month ( La Grande Réserve et Terra Rosso)
