In 1992, Pierre Varenne leaves the Coop cellar of Gigondas after 20 years of work there. In 1993, with this rich experience, he and his wife Marie Claude decide to create a new Domaine.

Both of them had inherited a few years ago from their parents some vines situated in Gigondas and Sablet. The wines harvested were brought to the Coop of their respective villages.

Since 2001, their daughter Cécile has joined them at the Domaine.

The origin of the name of the Domaine comes from the neighbouring village : Grand Bourjassot being the name given to the land where part of the Domaine is situated.
