VINEGROWERS WHO CAN “MOVE MOUNTAINS”

Since 1947, three generations of the Brusset family – André the father, Daniel the son and Laurent the grand-son – have succeeded one another in charge of the Domaine. All three have toiled to extend the vineyard and to use their wine-making skills to extract the quintessence of the fine soils they cultivate.

Le Grand Montmirail and Les Hauts de Montmirail: this vineyard was created by Daniel in 1986, by converting family-owned wineries at Cairanne. It consists of 19 hectares of vines growing on Jurassic and Triassic limestone terraces, which are the most spectacular Gigondas vineyards of them all.

Here, the vines face due south and emerge straight from the stone: they can only be cultivated in terraces, due to the steepness of the terrain.

Our goal is to favour the unique qualities of each specific parcel of land. We like our wines to be fruity, full-bodied and racy, with superior ageing properties.
